On 19th January 2025, the Mothers’ Union of the Accra Diocese paid a heartfelt visit to St. Thomas Anglican Church, Otaten, bringing joy and support to the congregation.
During the visit, President Mother Wilhelmina Graves led the presentation of various essential items to the church. These included rice, cooking oil, tomato purée, mackerel, drinks, biscuits, sanitary pads, and used clothing, among other donations.
In response to a special appeal for the construction of a church building, the Union contributed generously towards the project, demonstrating their commitment to the growth of the faith community.
The Children’s Service added a special touch to the occasion, delighting the mothers with heartwarming songs and Bible verses.
Mothers Provencal and Chikwendu also made significant contributions by presenting the church with a Communion bowl and a drum, both of which were received with deep gratitude.
The celebrant, Canon Mensah Commey, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Mothers’ Union for their visit, gifts, and generous support. He commended the Union for adopting the church despite its small size and for extending such genuine care and kindness. In closing, he prayed for God’s continuous blessings upon each member of the Union.
The visit was a testament to the Union’s mission of love, generosity, and faith in action, impacting the church community at St. Thomas Anglican, Otaten.
